Terms of Use
Last updated: July 23, 2026
By using FileWren (the "site"), you agree to these terms. They are short, because the service is simple.
The service
FileWren provides free file utilities that run in your web browser. Your files are processed locally on your device and are never uploaded to us. The tools are provided free of charge and supported by advertising.
Acceptable use
You may use the tools for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial. You agree not to attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it at abusive volume, or use it in a way that violates applicable law. You are responsible for the files you process and for having the right to use them.
No warranty
The tools are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. File processing happens on your device with your browser's capabilities; results can vary by browser and file. Always keep your original file until you have verified the output — the tools never modify your original, but you should confirm the result meets your needs before relying on it.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FileWren and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the site, including data loss or unusable output files. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the site — which is zero.
Intellectual property
The site's code, design and written content are the property of FileWren. Your files remain entirely yours — we claim no rights over anything you process, and we never possess your files in the first place.
Third-party services
Pages include advertising served by Google AdSense and are delivered via Cloudflare. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies, described in ourprivacy policy.
Changes
We may update these terms as the site evolves; the date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance.
